Baby was small, but then she grew.
From one inch and onto two.
From three inches onto four.
Soon she was a foot or more.
When she wanted milk she cried,
With her baby eyes so wide.
Baby grew so very fast,
The baby food would hardly last.
The sudden spew of baby goo
All over you and momma too
Even grandfolk were so thrilled
When the baby milk was spilled
Daddy said, “you’re so cute…
In your little birthday suit.”
Momma said, “look at you!
…Look at how my baby grew!”
Every ounce that she grew more,
Was more of baby to adore!
And everyone that baby knew,
Said “look how big the baby grew!”
Mom and dad began to see,
Babe would soon a toddler be…
And certainly, not far behind,
We would then a woman find.
From the spit-up to the sit-up,
From the kick into the crawl.
Soon will be the hair and make-up,
Gone will be the baby ball.
We all started out that small
With our crib and baby ball
I should take these times to treasure
While my girl, I still can measure
With every sight and sound so new.
Her Ahhs and oo’s and baby coos,
I so love her through and through.
Baby was small, but then she grew.
